- Be in Touch
Most people are amiss to know the once common knowledge of how to take care of their bodies within a location based nourishment ecosystem. A mind full of thoughts and emotions has taken precedent. I value that the body is part of our mindfulness and the brain neural network is actually a continuation that collects and send signals throughout the body. This includes the epigenetic and eco-field information that passes through us. You will eventually disturb the peace of mind when the energy within the body is out of balance. And it goes the other way too. Trying to control the body from the mind is an exercise in futility. One must live with the harmony to experience bliss.
Most everybody wants a quick mind solution, change a thought and change the experience. But most people do not have the discipline of mind to stay on course with a focus of their thought long enough to manifest a serious change in the body. They are complementary and mutually part of any movement towards experiencing blissfulness. A Guru’s presence with the transmission of a realized blissful state can be very helpful. We need enlightened beings to help us along but we must only be reminded that the access to the blissful state is within one’s own self through one’s own attention to what is needed.
When a symptom arises in the body, do you immediately ask what is needed and listen… sincerely listen? There is a wisdom within that can reveal a corrective direction if we are open to listen and learning from within.
Or do you go upstairs into thought to judge, look for a fixing strategy or look towards a substance to distract or modify the experience but not transform it. To transform anything, we must first bless it. This means to be grateful for the lesson ‘that has been presented at your feet’. How can you learn to embrace, love it and bring some Light to where there was previously stuck energy.
My approach is to move towards the Earth as our body grows out of and is sustained by the Earth and the Eco-field. Both are expressions of Nature’s purity and power. When we take care of our relationship with either, Body/Earth, we are taking care of the other complementary part as well. As we move towards the Earth, we must move through the base Chakras which contain the gut microbiome, sexuality, elimination and core foundational issues; namely safety, security, self of connectedness and belonging. Bringing blissfulness to each of these layers of self is THE work as I see it. For example, there a much larger majority of receptors for serotonin in the gut then there are in the brain. Although there is a complementary relationship, the body has a predominate role in regards to this particular neurotransmitter and science will be revealing other discoveries about the microbiome and enteric nervous system as time moves forward.
It is an Art and a Science. Once I did a month long meditation intensive ’The Science of Being and the Art of Living”, circa 1974. I was 23 and it was a challenging time stepping away from my college pre-med focus and into general studies and later into fine arts. I really did not understand who I was and what it would take to find a flow and career where I could live with myself. The focus of that month intensive was the foundational ground that gives rises to the surface manifestation (including bliss). This consciousness arises like a bubble from the depths of the ocean towards the surface. The energy expands as it moves upward, eventually presenting as a blissful experience or one that is less so. We have a say over our experience based on how we take care of our garden- body and Pachamama… Earth and all the Universe that brings us loving nourishment.
I am still learning to listen. Sometimes it feels like I am doing a rather sloppy job and I am just so distracted from what is important. i am also surprised by the resurfacing of creative potential after taking a sincere time for being present, being curious and listening.
